Llamerada is a traditional dance from the territory of the Aymara people inhabiting the borderlands of Peru, Bolivia, and Chile. The dance mimics alpaca and llama herders, intertwining their daily work in the Andes with deep respect for nature as a ritual bringing good fortune and prosperity.
It is said that the Llamerada is so ancient that it dates back to the Inca Empire, where the breeding of llamas and alpacas was vital to the lives of South America's indigenous peoples.
